Shell and tube heat exchanger is also called tubular heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is the most typical dividing wall type heat exchanger. Shell and tube heat exchanger is mainly composed of shell, tube bundles, tube plates and end covers. There are two fluids in which heat exchange is carried out in the shell heat exchanger: one flow in the tubes and its travel is called tube pass; the other flows outside the tubes and its travel is call shell pass. In shell and tube heat exchanger, as temperatures inside and outside tubes are different, temperatures in the shell and tube bundles are different.
